Position Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will report to the Head of Telemarketing and will be primarily responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities for the sales team. The role focuses on targeting businesses within the construction sector and following up on marketing campaigns specifically designed for this audience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Follow up on campaign responses generated from marketing activity.
- Make outbound calls to prospects as part of regular marketing campaigns.
- Qualifying leads to BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timescale) criteria.
- Send out follow-up emails and conduct professional web chats.
- Forecast your revenue pipeline on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Responsible for achieving quarterly & annual sales team targets.
- Building and maintaining a sales pipeline in CRM and submitting required sales forecasts.
- Effectively using dynamic sales tools like Consensus, Lead forensics and LinkedIn to your advantage
Prerequisites and Attributes
- At least 12 months’ previous experience in a telemarketing role.
- Excellent understanding of software in general.
- Strong level of job stability.
- Capacity to deliver an average of 2.5 hours talk time – broadly around 50-60 dials and send up to 10 emails a day.
- Credible and articulate when dealing with FDs and MDs.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and write compelling professional emails.
- Self-starter, motivated, confident individual, with a vibrant attitude.
Advantageous
- Experience in a profiling, account management, and/or business development role for a software-related environment.
- A broad understanding of the construction industry would be useful.
- Some understanding of financial / accounts packages – preferably Sage.
